Procedure of under special Marriage act 1955
The Special Marriage Act (SMA) of
1954 is of different Intercaste and Inter
religions, can get married under this act.
According to this act, parents consent
is not required. This act is legal
framework is the registration and
solemnisation of civil marriage.
Special Marriage Act in Conditions:
Similarly, there are certain conditions
under this law when it comes to
marriage. Only according to that, one
can get married. Those conditions are
mentioned in section 4. It is 21 years
for a man and 18 years for a woman

relationship. According, both of them
must be unmarried. They must have
been divorced according to the
marriage law. Both parties of them

Similarly, if both parties wish to get
married, one of them should inform the
nearest district register office. This
should be done in writing. One of the
two persons must have come and
inform in writing 30 days in advance
from the date of notification. This
means that there should be a 30 days’
notice period the section 5. The
registration officer who has checked all
this should post it on the notice board.

districts, the registration officer should
find out which district both are from
and send them to that district. The
district registration officer should post
the notice on the notice board. If no one
expresses any objection to their notice,
the marriage is valid. If someone files a
