Clause & Cause is an online legal magazine created to promote critical legal thinking, scholarly writing, and informed debate on contemporary legal issues. The platform welcomes contributions from law students, academicians, researchers, and legal professionals. We believe law is not merely a collection of clauses but a living instrument shaped by social causes, constitutional values, and judicial reasoning. Because law is not merely written -- it is lived, debated and shaped by those who dare to engage with it.
clause & cause began as a shared idea between Afreena Basha and Balkis Beevee — two students who believed that legal education should go beyond lectures and examinations. what started as conversations about justice, reform and student voices gradually grew into a platform dedicated to thoughtful writing and meaningful dialogue.
driven by curiosity and a commitment to constitutional values, they founded clause & cause to create a space where young legal minds could question, analyze, and express — because every clause carries a cause, and every voice deserves to be heard.
